Member Policies, Fees, and Dues

CSYC has been sustained since its founding in 1933 by a philosophy of reliance on its members for operations and improvements. The Club's members share a love for sailing and a respect for the ideals of cooperative work, which develop close friendships and camaraderie both on and off the water. Crescent has a rich historic past with an upbeat and active membership enjoying today's sailing lifestyle.

The Club committees organize and manage a full schedule of Junior and Adult educational, social, and competitive sailing activities. Crescent is recognized throughout the sailing community for its hospitality, location, and sailing talent.

Applying for Membership

There are a number of membership options: Senior, Senior Under 35, Senior Student, Crew, and Junior.

Senior members (all types) can vote, hold office, and apply for dry and wet moorings.

Crew members have full access to the club, use of club boats, may store kayaks and paddle boards and trailer in daysailers to launch but, cannot vote, hold office, or moor sailboats.

Junior members have full access to the club and apply for dry mooring.

Membership application can be done by clicking Join in the upper right (click here to start now!). All new member applicants require sponsorship letters from three Senior members.

Work Hour Requirements

Senior: 18 hours per year

Crew: 9 hours per year

Junior: 10 hours per year

Initiation Fees- (A one time fee)

Senior: $1,350 with an option to pay in three annual installments of $450, $475, and $500 (first installment due at time of application)

Crew: $75

Annual Dues

Senior: $1185

Senior Under 35: $295; $1006 (with a wet moored boat)

Senior Student: $118

Crew: $590

Junior: $118

Summer Mooring 2023

Wet: $5.15 per square foot

(boat length overall x beam)

Dry: $3.75 per square foot

Dry Catamaran: $3.35 per square foot

Club-Owned Boats

CSYC Flying Scots, Cal 20s and Multi-hulls are available to qualified member skippers at a fee of $200 per year.

General Membership Meetings

Applicants are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings at CSYC at 8:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, excluding July, August, and December. This is a good way to get a feel for how Crescent operates and to meet current members.
