Summers at Crescent Sail Yacht Club are an active time of sport, camaraderie, and enjoyment of the ever-changing moods of Lake Saint Clair. Our unique access to the big waters of the lake makes it easy for even the youngest sailors to get sailing fast, and our well-developed Junior Sailing program keeps them safe while learning seamanship, small-boat handling, and skills of independence and resilience.
Junior Sailing at Crescent over the years has been the foundation for generations of successful sail racers and cruisers who are well-known in regional and national sailing circles.
- Our Learn-to-Sail students learn how to rig, how to launch and retrieve their boats, how to sail their boats proficiently, and how to execute an orderly recovery from unexpected events such as capsize.
- Our Racing Sailors further develop their knowledge and understanding of the Racing Rules of Sailing, refine their boat handling skills, and enhance their racing techniques.
- Both programs help students develop their skills while working in a cooperative group setting, guided by experienced instructors.

The freedom to exist in a joyous summertime environment far from the distraction of smart devices and network technology, while interacting with peers in a setting that concentrates skill-building and learning by doing, is the hallmark of the Crescent Junior Sailing program.
Mission and Values
The mission of the Crescent Sailing Association is to develop solid foundational sailing skills and to instill a love for the sport that will serve as a template for the sport's future.

| June 25-26 | Pontiac Yacht Club Regatta. (Racing Sailors) Parent Volunteers are needed to help move boats and trailers to the regatta. |

| July 9-10 | Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Regatta (Racing Sailors) |
| July 11 | LTS session 1 ends. |
| July 14-18 | No Class (101st BYC Mackinac Race) |
| July 21 | LTS session 2 starts. Swim Test - bring a swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes. |
| July 23-24 | Crescent Sail Yacht Club Regatta. All sailors are encouraged to participate. Parent Volunteers are needed to help with various activities. Contact csycjuniorsailing@gmail.com to sign up. A detailed list of volunteer positions will be sent as we get closer to the event. |
| July 31-Aug 1 | Bayview Yacht Club Regatta. (Racing Sailors) Need parent Volunteers to help move some boats and drive kids home. Some will move by water. Drop-off will be at BYC on both mornings for racing sailors. |
| Aug 5-6 | Detroit Yacht Club Regatta (Racing Sailors) Need parent Volunteers to help move some boats and drive kids home. Some will move by water. Drop-off will be at DYC on both mornings for racing sailors. |
