About Membership
Crescent is a collaborative member managed working organization. To maintain the ethos and functionality of CSYC as a home for sailors of moderate means members contribute workhours through the year to improve and maintain the club. Members also accumulate seniority annually based on their membership type. Seniority along with workhours are used to determine eligibility and priority for moorings.
Membership is open to anyone interested in sailing. Applicants may join as senior, junior or crew.
Senior members have full voting rights, mooring privileges, use of club boats, the ability to hold elective club office and may book the clubhouse for private functions. Senior members accrue one year of seniority and contribute a minimum of 18 workhours to the club each year.
Applicants who are either active students or under 35 years of age may apply for either senior student or senior under 35 membership. There is also a differentiation for members under 35 who have a boat in the harbor v. those with either a dry mooring or without a boat. Eligible members pay discounted dues and may defer initiation fees until 35 years of age. See the table of dues and fees
Junior membership is open to sailors 18 years and younger. Junior members have limited access to the property and may dry moor sailboats. Junior members contribute a minimum of 10 workhours to the club each year.
Crew members have full access to the club, use of club boats, may book the clubhouse for private functions, store kayaks/paddleboards and trailer in daysailers to launch. Crew members accrue one-half year of seniority and contribute a minimum of 9 workhours to the club each year.
